A message from our High School Counselor:

The faculty and staff at New Braunfels Christian Academy, in partnership with parents, seek to help students realize the plan God has for their lives. NBCA recognizes the importance of equipping students with the knowledge and tools they need to be successful both in high school and beyond. Students are encouraged to discover their God-given gifts and talents, and to take charge of their futures in an environment that provides intellectual and spiritual challenge, reflection and support.

Academic Advising: Our guidance counselor offers individualized counseling encouraging students to take challenging classes that fulfill NBCA requirements as well as the colleges in which they are interested.

Testing: Students take standardized tests beginning with the Stanford Achievement Test and the PSAT in their 9th, 10th and 11th grade years. We recommend that students take the SAT and/or the ACT college entrance exams during their junior year with the option of retaking them the senior year.

College Selection and Application: Through various in-class seminars, individual counseling times and group meetings, both parents and students are given information about colleges and the application process. College admissions representatives are brought on campus throughout the year. NBCA also participates in the NBISD and CISD joint college fair at Canyon High School in the fall.

Scholarship Search: : Students are provided a list of national, state, local and university specific scholarships and are given assistance in applying.

Students and parents are welcome to visit or call with any questions or concerns.
