Gifted and Talented Program
NBCA serves the needs of the gifted and talented student in their advanced academic classes through differentiation of the curriculum by modifying either the process (teaching method), product (student-made assessment), or the content (materials studied) of individual lessons.
Students are challenged to think creatively, outside the box, and in depth, especially in the core courses — English, social studies, math, and science. In addition, a GT student may select a faculty mentor to guide him/her through a self-selected, end-of-the-year project or choose a special gifted program offered at NBCA.
Special Programs for GT Students
One available project-based program that meets the needs of the gifted student is the national robot building competition sponsored by Mr. Shute.
