Band

The New Braunfels Christian Academy band program cultivates excited student musicians who seek excellence in performance. Students are introduced to sheet music as early as the sixth grade and may continue their growth in the instrumental arts through high school. Band students demonstrate their skills performing pep and sacred music and compositions by the masters at music competitions, parades and local concerts.

Beginner band

Beginner band starts in the sixth grade, where students learn the basics of instrumental music with woodwind, brass and percussion instruments as their medium. The curriculum is focused on developing strong basics in music fundamentals and sight reading. The beginners are the featured performers in the instrumental music showcase every February and are inducted into the middle school band program at the spring concert in May.

Middle School Band

The middle school band program consists of seventh and eighth grade musicians. The curriculum is focused on students’ continued musical development and they are prepared to participate in the high school program. Middle school students have an opportunity to compete in individual ACSI competition as well as to perform in small ensembles and at all school concerts.

High School Band

The high school band program performs the best in band literature. They perform at several school and local concerts, TAPPS competitions and at the high school football home games. During the 2011-2012 school year, the New Braunfels Christian Academy high school band will lead the Comal County Fair Parade.
