Cheerleading

The New Braunfels Christian Academy cheer program is the official spirit organization for the Fighting Wildcat athletic program. Cheer squad members spread school pride as they excel academically, spiritually and socially while bringing honor and glory to the name of God through challenging performance and involvement in the school and community.

The Christian Academy cheer program is available to middle and high school students, and both junior varsity and varsity squads cheer at Wildcat basketball and football home and away games, as well as participate in numerous community events. We offer Wildcat fans action-packed routines featuring high-flying stunts, tumbling and precision dance moves.

The varsity squad has competed in several cheerleading competitions and in 2008, was named the Fellowship of Christian Cheerleaders (FCC) Regional Champion. The squads attend Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) summer camp and a weekly tumbling class.

Coaching Philosophy

The cheer program is based on a mutual student-advisor relationship of respect, service to others and a dedication to excellence. Stemming from the belief that cheerleading participation enhances self-confidence and self-esteem, cheer is guided in an environment that promotes leadership, self-motivation, goal-setting, optimum learning and high achievement by emphasizing individual performance, teamwork, positive values, responsibility and commitment.

Tryouts

High school and middle school cheerleading tryouts occur each April at the New Braunfels Christian Academy Gym. All candidates must download the Cheer Constitution and required Cheer Tryout Packet of forms (including the Parent Consent/Cheerleader Agreement, Risks of Cheerleading, Teacher Recommendation Forms and Contact Information Sheet). All forms are due to the front office, in an envelope addressed to the cheer faculty advisor by the March deadline.
