This is a list of scholarships and contests offered by local community.
The Greater New Braunfels Art Council
The council sponsors an annual poetry contest with 4 divisions for 5th graders to adults. Submit a poem on any subject at least 8 lines long, limit 2 poems. Cash prizes and medallions will be awarded to the winners. See your English teacher or Mrs. Shumway for more details.
Aggie Moms Club
The Comal County A&M Mothers' Club is offering three scholarships valued at $500 each to Aggies who graduated from Comal County HS or home school equivalent and whose parents are current residents of Comal County. To qualify, students must have completed at least 2 semesters at A&M and have a 2.5 or higher GPA. Contact Sue Coffee 830-625-2138.
Deadline July 31, 2011 but they may offer this again next year. Look for it.
Comal County A&M Club Scholarship
5 scholarships will be awarded to Comal County High School graduating seniors who have been accepted to Texas A&M College Station or Galveston. See Mrs. Shumway for details and an application.
New Braunfels Art League Scholarship
Given to one high school graduate who plans to study art in college. More information in the spring.

BigSun Scholarship
The Big Sun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. We are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in.
Deadline - June 22, 2012
Amount of Award - $500.00
The successful applicant will be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute and currently involved in some sport at that institution or in the community..

Oakseed Ministries Essay Contest

New Braunfels Music Study Club Scholarship
The NB Music Study Club offers two $1200.00 scholarships to high school seniors who plan to major in vocal or instrumental music their freshman year of college. Auditions will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012, at the First Protestant Church in New Braunfels. For applications and more information, contact Mrs. Shumway, 830-629-1821.
GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program
Annually awards 20 college bound students who demonstrates leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship with $10,000 renewable scholarships. For more information, visit www.reaganfoundation.org/scholarships
